Throughout Ontario and the world, we are often inspired by the athletes that compete in "The Special Olympics" - programs and competitions that are aimed at helping those with intellectual disabilities have fun, improve self-esteem and learn new life skills.

Helping these individuals requires the support of the community, and to that end, throughout Ontario, Law Enforcement Torch Runs are held in order to raise both funds and awareness of The Special Olympics. During these runs, which are held across Ontario, the "Flame of Hope" is carried by members of law enforcement agencies. The runs are also open to other members of the community and you do not need to be a member of a law enforcement agency to participate.

This year, staff members from Small Town Family Dental have decided to be a part of this worthy cause with participation in the Torch Run that will be held in Shelburne, ON on June 5th, 2015. The run will begin at Fiddler's Park at 10:30AM.

The staff that will be participating in this year's Torch Run include:

  • Diane Davies
  • Charlee Adams
  • Ashley Blakely
  • Cindy Savoie
  • Blaise Meunier
  • Vanessa Lloyd
Dr. Gewarges will be cheering them on! We'd love it if you felt inclined to donate or sponsor the Small Town Family Dental Clinic team! Pledges are being accepted at our office at 125 Main St. W. Shelburne, ON L9V 3K3.
